St. Benedict Catholic School

Grounded in Values, Growing in Knowledge

Volunteering

St. Benedict families are expected to contribute a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer time per family. Volunteer hours may also be contributed in the name of the family by friends and relatives who are high school age or older. Specific event requirements include:

In addition to providing volunteer hours to the auction, each family needs to donate a new item or service to be sold at the auction that has a retail value of at least $200. Items of lesser value may be grouped together to equal $200. Families who do not fulfill this commitment will be billed $200.

NOTE: All individuals who volunteer in the school must complete Archdiocesan mandated background check and Safe Environment Training for Volunteers. Details on this can be found HERE.  After a parent has completed the three hours "Called to Protect for Ministries" training they must maintain the training through online class.

Safe Environment Training Update

Each year school volunteers are to update their Safe Environment with an online class.  Please follow the steps below and complete by May 13, 2011.
Below are the instructions as to how to take the on-line Armatus class:

Please make sure that all locations at which you work and/or volunteer are identified. For example – if you volunteer at your parish and at your child’s school, make sure both locations are identified. Then click button that says “Update Information & Continue”.
Once you are logged into Armatus, choose a class to take by viewing the section at top of screen titles “Classes You are Currently Required to Take”. It will list only the classes you  are required to take. Only complete one on-line class to satisfy your training for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

A Notice to All Microsoft Employees

Great news for our school! As part of the Microsoft volunteer program, Microsoft will donate $17 per employee volunteer hour to St. Benedict School. Microsoft will match your volunteer time up to $12,000 per year as part of your overall employee matching gift benefit.  All of your volunteer hours can turn into extra funding for the school. This includes working at the Wurst Festival, coaching CYO sports or volunteering on field trips, just to name a few.
