St. Benedict Catholic School opened in 1908 with eight grades and 66 students. Today, the school enrolls approximately 215 students in eleven classrooms. This includes a Preschool for 3-year-olds, a Pre-kindergarten for 4-year-olds, and one classroom for each grade Kindergarten through the 8th grade.

Activities offered after school include knitting, chess, pottery, and Lego robotics. There is also an annual school musical and talent show . Family movie nights are offered monthly. Off campus activities include CYO sports, youth group and altar serving.

It’s been a wonderful two months, and we want to take a moment to send a HUGE thank you to Mrs. G, who stepped in as a substitute in our kindergarten class. Her dedication, kindness, and warmth truly made a difference in the lives of our little ones, and we are so grateful for the love she brought into the classroom every day.

As we welcome back our wonderful teacher, Mrs. Fitzpatrick, we also want to celebrate the time and effort Mrs. G put into making sure everything ran smoothly.❤️🫶🏼

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. As part of the tradition, families create altars (ofrendas) adorned with photos, favorite foods, and flowers, particularly marigolds, to welcome the spirits back.

To celebrate this occasion, Ms. Sosa our Spanish Teacher and students from 4th to 8th grade created an altar.

The 4th graders crafted paper sugar skulls to decorate the altar, while students from 5th to 8th grade participated in building and presenting a paper altar for a loved one, sharing pictures and memories of them. It was a vibrant and meaningful way to celebrate life and honor our loved ones

Embracing Inclusivity at St. Bens 🌟
From Nolan’s mom, I wanted to share a heartfelt note of gratitude. After school, Nolan couldn’t contain his excitement! Mr. Marcus, our P.E teacher took the time to talk to him about a baseball player with a similar hand, likely Jim Abbott. He encouraged Nolan by saying he could play professional baseball one day!
When Nolan shared this with us, he beamed, saying, “That’s what I want to be when I grow up.”
❤️ It was a beautiful reminder of how powerful supportive interactions can be.

🔥🚒 Yesterday was an unforgettable day for our kindergarteners! The local firefighters came to visit and gave an amazing demonstration of their fire truck and all the gear they wear. Our little ones were so excited to learn about the brave work firefighters do! 🙌🔥

When asked who wanted to be a firefighter when they grow up, hands shot up all around!
