Brian Anderson is a Seattle native who was raised in the Wedgwood neighborhood. He is the product of 22 years of Catholic education! He is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake, Bishop O'Dea High School, The University of Portland, and The University of Notre Dame where he participated in the Alliance for Catholic Education Leadership Program. Brian has worked in Catholic education since 1997. He has taught a variety of grade levels in Catholic schools in North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, and Bangladesh. He has also worked as principal at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Vancouver, Washington.

Mrs. Bartram received her B.A. in Art History from Western Washington University and her Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington. After several years working at local museums in art education, she joined St. Benedict in 2005 as the third grade teacher. Following 15 years in third grade, she moved into the role of school librarian where she enjoys finding something to celebrate every day with students, particularly her love of reading. Ms. Bartram loves to read aloud and is eager to find that “just right” book for a student. She has also served as the Vice Principal since 2015, leading teachers through curriculum mapping, trainings in Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic identity, mentoring new teaching staff, and assisting with accreditation. Away from school, Mrs. Bartram enjoys outdoor adventures with her three sons and husband, working in the garden, and doing artsy projects.

My name is Stacey Nice
Stacey Nice joined St. Benedict Catholic School in January of 2023 as the Office Manager. She comes to St. Ben’s with thirty plus years of experience in the real estate industry working with buyers and sellers as a licensed real estate agent with Windermere Real Estate. She was born and raised in the greater Seattle area and currently lives in Woodinville. She attended Sacred Heart School and Eastside Catholic High School in Bellevue and Seattle University. She has a very strong background of Catholic education and her faith.
With a deep-rooted passion for nurturing and supporting those around them, Stacey has dedicated her life to making a positive impact in the communities that she is a part of. Whether it's lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or simply spreading kindness, she approaches every interaction with empathy and warmth. She loves and cares for people very deeply! Her commitment to understanding and uplifting others shines through in her personal and professional life, making her a huge asset to the community.
Outside of work, she loves to attend Mariners games and outdoor concerts, watching movies, and taking walks by the waterfront. She is also the proud mother to our newest P.E. teacher, Marcus McCannel!

My name is Christine Negron
Christine has been at St. Benedict since 2018 as a first grade teacher and is excited to be teaching preschool this year. This is her 21st year teaching. She has taught preschool, prek, kindergarten, and first grade. She loves to create learning environments and experiences that provide young children with open-ended, play-based ways to explore and learn. Christine has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Washington State University and a Master’s in Education from Lesley College. When Christine is not at St. Ben’s, she is spending time with her husband and two teenage sons.

My name is Beth Thieme
Beth graduated from Seattle University with a BA in English and earned her early childhood certification through the Montessori Institute of the Pacific Northwest. Beth joined St. Benedict’s in 2023 with fifteen years experience teaching in both Montessori and traditional preschool environments. She seeks to infuse structure, independence and creativity so that her classroom just hums. Beth and her husband, Duncan, first joined the St. Ben’s community in 2007 as parents. Outside the classroom you’ll find Beth taking nature walks, illustrating characters for her stories, or relaxing with her pug, Olive.

My name is Midge Bradshaw
Midge is thrilled to be joining the St. Benedict’s community. Born and raised in Kent, Midge
has been a Wallingford resident for 26 years where she lives with her husband and son. Midge
found much joy in working with children from her years of volunteering at her son’s schools.
Whether as a volunteer, fund raiser or mother, Midge’s passion is children. She looks forward
to applying this passion in the classroom to support the Early Learning Teachers.
Midge is a graduate of Washington State University. After college she worked for over a
decade at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society organizing fundraising events. In her spare
time, Midge enjoys visiting her son at College, gardening, reading mysteries and watching
Seattle sports and college (Cougar and Badger) football.

My name is Megan McCrary
Megan graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2021 with a degree in Politics and Government. After graduating, she moved to Denver, where she worked as a receptionist at a law firm. After two years of snowy winters, Megan moved back to Seattle and joined the St. Benedict community as an extended day worker and kindergarten aide. This year she works in both the first grade and kindergarten classrooms as the elementary aide. Outside of work, Megan enjoys going on hikes, camping, reading, and going to concerts.

My name is Mariko Fitzpatrick
Mariko Fitzpatrick joined St. Benedict School in 2008 as the Kindergarten teacher. She received her B.A. in Liberal Studies from Seattle University and her Masters in Teaching from Heritage University. Mrs. Fitzpatrick believes in developing students as a whole person; spiritually, socially and academically. She strives to challenge her students to think creatively, work independently and to set high expectations for themselves. She also believes in creating a partnership with families to help students reach their potential. Mrs. Fitzpatrick says, "I love teaching kindergarten students because they are curious about learning and love to do their best. They come into school very young and grow up right before your eyes." She enjoys cooking, sewing, working out and spending time with her husband and son.

My name is Jenn Helzer
Jenn was born and raised in Portland, OR. She moved to the Seattle area in 2015 to work as a first grade teacher at St. Francis of Assisi School in Burien. She is thrilled to be continuing her teaching career in first grade as a St. Benedict Bear! In the classroom Jenn enjoys cultivating an inclusive environment for her students, as well as promoting growth in academics through project based learning. Outside of school Jenn likes to travel, practice yoga, and explore all that the great Pacific Northwest has to offer.

My name is Caroline Chan
Caroline Chan joined the lovely St. Benedict Catholic School community in Fall 2024, where she has had the honor of teaching and working with such wonderful second graders, faculty, and staff. Ms. Chan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Integrative Health and Wellness (IHW) through University of Portland, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education degree with a Leadership Focus through the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE) program. Ms. Chan strives to foster a love both of and for learning with her students, and delights in developing strong and positive relationships, as well as creating relevant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for all. My name is Jamie Johnson
Jamie joined the St. Benedict family in January of 2021 and is our lead third grade teacher. She has worked with kids from pre-school through 12th grade in a variety of settings—summer camps, youth ministry, public schools, and Catholic schools—and she is confident that teaching is the vocation God has called her to! The relationships with students and families that teaching provides are her favorite part about being in education. I was born in Mexico and later moved to Washington, where I attended Washington State University, Go Cougs! I am passionate about building a career that fosters relationships with students, makes a lasting difference in their lives, and creates an enjoyable learning experience. In my free time, I love running, trying new foods, volunteering, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with my husband and two daughters. My name is McKenna McCrary
McKenna McCrary joined the St. Benedict community in Fall of 2019, just a few months after graduating from the University of Portland with her B.A. in Elementary Education. McKenna continued her education a few years later, and graduated from Western Governors University with a Masters in Middle School Mathematics in 2023. McKenna is originally from Olympia, Washington. She grew up in a large family (she has 7 siblings!) which inspired her love for working with children. McKenna solidified her desire to teach by volunteering at her church’s VBS every summer in high school. McKenna believes that relationships are the key to success in the classroom. She strives to ensure that all students feel safe, cared for, seen, and heard. Academically, her classroom goals are to foster independence, curiosity, self-confidence, and perseverance when faced with adversity. McKenna enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, walking, playing and coaching volleyball, and playing games.

My name is Cathleen Barron
Cathleen joined St. Benedict in 2023 as the fifth grade teacher. She grew up in the Seattle area and even attended St. Benedict for Kindergarten! She received a B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading intervention and a minor in Sociology, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Portland. Cathleen always wanted to be a teacher and has worked with kids for most of her life, from babysitting and nannying to working in a gym’s Kid’s Club and now finally teaching! She loves teaching fifth grade and supporting her students as they navigate a challenging but rewarding transition from elementary to middle school. She believes that the overarching goals of her teaching should be to foster a spirit of independence, self-accountability, and curiosity in her students. In her free time, Cathleen enjoys reading, crafts, and spending time with her friends and family.

My name is Arlette Fellores
Arlette has been working at St. Benedict since August 2020 . She graduated from Western Washington University with her B.A. in Social Studies and History and completed her post- baccalaureate in Secondary Education. After graduation, she backpacked through Europe and found her love in travelling! Arlette has worked in a variety of fields in education as a college advisor, international student programs assistant director, study abroad coordinator, ELL instructor, and more, but her favorite is being a teacher! Her favorite grades to teach are middle school because she loves the energy and the classroom discussions at this age. She was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada B.C. She has 2 daughters who also attended St. Ben’s from pre-school through 8th grade. Outside of teaching, Arlette enjoys camping, road trips and travelling with her family, spending time near the ocean and outdoors, baking, and line dancing.

Sean Winoski is joining the St. Benedict community this year as the 7th grade homeroom and 6-8 mathematics teacher. Mr. Winoski received a B.S. from George Washington University, and is beginning his graduate studies at the University of Washington this Fall. He taught high school in New Orleans for three years before moving to Washington. Mr. Winoski is excited to work closely with the 7th grade class and to be a part of a wonderful, nurturing community.

My name is Shalini Miskelly
I studied microbiology and chemistry in college, but after graduation, became a college librarian. After 10 years, I wanted to be in the classroom more than the library, so went to UW for my Master's in Teaching in 2015-16. I have been teaching math for the last few years at another Catholic school in Seattle. I am also a mom of two St. Ben's grads and one current St. Ben's student. I enjoy reading, baking, and cheering for the Seattle Mariners.

My name is Lisa Budinik
Lisa is excited to be part of the St. Benedict Catholic School community! Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Lisa is a true St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Fourteen years ago, She moved to the Pacific Northwest and has two children. They love spending time by the ocean, listening to the waves on the shore. In their spare time, She works at Chateau Ste Michelle during concerts and events in the spring, summer, and early fall. A passionate traveler, She has visited 4 out of the 7 continents and 48 out of the 50 states. They also enjoy baking, reading, and relaxing by the water.

She has been involved in Catholic schools for over 20 years, both in St. Louis, Missouri, and Washington. Throughout this time, she has taken on a wide range of responsibilities, including serving as a reading specialist, proctoring and scribing for tests, working in the resource room at a high school, and leading various initiatives like auctions and fundraisers. She's also been a classroom mom and sports mom for high school volleyball, baseball, and basketball. Her involvement extends to field trips, classroom assistance, CYO, book fairs, yearbooks, football games, lunch duties, and supporting both school and class projects.
This extensive experience has provided her with deep insight into how schools operate, how to support children in the classroom, and how to help them succeed while enjoying their time at school. She has honed skills in patience, pacing instruction to individual needs, organization, multitasking, and personal growth—all in the service of helping students thrive.

Sarah Heath has been the St. Benedict Math Specialist since 2016 and thoroughly enjoys working with middle school students. She attended Georgetown University and completed her Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Portland through the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education program. Prior to her time in Seattle she served as an AmeriCorps member at an urban charter school in New York City. Outside of the classroom Ms. Heath enjoys visiting local bookstores, exploring scenic trails, and sampling the diverse food offerings of the Seattle area.

My name is Debbie Bellia
Mrs. Bellia loves her job teaching art to and with our Pre-K- 8th grade students. This is her 22nd year of teaching art at St. Benedict School. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida, majoring in printmaking and drawing. She also trained in the Teaching Artist Training Lab through the Washington State Arts Commission in their year-long teaching program. Prior to teaching she owned a commercial glass design business, working with local architecture/interior design firms to create large etched/sandblasted glass panels for hotels, restaurants, corporate offices and cruise ships.
As an art teacher, her teaching mission is to develop strong drawing and art skills, encourage creative, outside-the-box thinking in a positive learning environment.
She sees her classroom as a think tank and place to invent and explore, promoting positive mind-set, no mistakes in art, and using one of her favorite quotes, “Good art takes time!” She works passionately to help each of her students grow and develop individually as artists.
Mrs. Bellia is married and has 3 adult children who all attended and graduated from St. Benedict Catholic School and also has 2 grandsons. In her free time, she loves to draw, hike and backpack, paddleboard, kayak and mountain bike with my husband, kids and grandkids.

My name is Marcus McCannel
Marcus is very excited to be teaching P.E. at St. Benedict Catholic School! This is Marcus’ first year of teaching but not his first time in a Catholic school. He attended Holy Family Kirkland from first through eighth grade. He then attended and graduated from Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish. He played baseball from Kindergarten through High School and then continued his love for the game by playing at the college level at Everett Community College and Colorado Christian University. In his spare time, Marcus loves coaching baseball, from Archbishop Murphy High School to his own select baseball program, the King County Mets, he keeps himself active and on the field. He is an avid Seattle sports team fan and loves to talk about anything sports related!

My name is Dave Marshall, and I am the technology teacher and coordinator at St. Benedict Catholic School. This is my 7th year teaching at St. Benedict. I grew up in Seattle, where I attended Assumption St. Bridget School and Bishop Blanchet High School before earning my teaching degree from Washington State University.
My wife and I have three children who keep us busy, but when I have free time, I enjoy playing soccer and attending Sounders matches. I am excited for another great year of learning and growth at St. Benedict Catholic School!

Keely Rogel is delighted to be back in the music room for another year of singing, music history and theory, fine arts and culture! After doing undergraduate work in music at Seattle University, Mrs. Rogel earned her level one certification in Kodaly music education from SPU’s graduate school of music. She lives in Shoreline with Mr. Rogel and her cat Bob, and has three grown daughters, with her oldest living in New Zealand!

Lisa Tribble started her career in 1997 in the Seattle Archdiocese after graduating from Central Washington University and serving a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She grew up in the Northwest in Puyallup, WA around generations of family and the beautiful surroundings of this area. Lisa earned her Master’s degree in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University in 2001. She has spent her whole career teaching in the Seattle Archdiocese, being raised Catholic and teaching in schools where she can share her faith has been the most rewarding for her. Her current work as Learning Specialist has been a joy, helping students learn more about how they learn and providing opportunities that work for them is fulfilling work.
Lisa and her husband have 3 children, all have attended Catholic Schools throughout the Seattle Archdiocese. Lisa loves to bake and decorate sugar cookies. She also loves to work in the yard, explore the beautiful areas of the Northwest and hang out with family.

My name is Susan Lisi
Susan Lisi, St. Benedict Media Center specialist since 2000, holds a B.A. in Linguistics and English, as well as a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. "I want to instill my love of reading and doing research in the kids I teach," she says, "Hopefully, they will learn to enjoy it as much as I do!" She loves teaching in this intimate, community atmosphere with great colleagues. Her son is a St. Bens graduate. When she is not teaching, Ms. Lisi likes to travel, ride bikes, and work on word and logic puzzles.

My name is Erika Mariano
Erika Mariano has been at St. Benedict Catholic School since 2022. She graduated from Lakes High School and Pierce College with her high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree, then graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education concentrating in Health & Fitness with a minor in Psychology. To further her education, she is currently attending Western Governors University to obtain her Masters of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education.
Aside from school, she grew up playing many sports–mainly soccer, so she loves being active and running. She was raised in Washington state so she has a great love for the outdoors and has hobbies like swimming in the ocean, car camping, hiking, biking, hammocking, paddleboarding, watching sunsets/sunrises, and so much more.
During her free time, she loves to wind down by reading a book or playing her guitar on her balcony. She loves Jesus and is heavily involved in her church community through worship team, kid’s ministry, etc.

My name is Suramy Sosa
Suramy Sosa is our Spanish Teacher. Mrs. Sosa was born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico; in 2016 she became a Seattle transplant and immediately fell in love with the natural beauties of the Pacific Northwest. Teaching is one of Mrs. Sosa's life passions, her Spanish Educator career started in 2017 and she has had the pleasure of working with children at various private and public schools in King County; she even had the wonderful experience of teaching Spanish (virtual classes) to a couple of kids in Pakistan. “My years of experience as a teacher have helped me shape an instruction philosophy that concentrates in coaching my students to become well rounded individuals”. Suramy received her B.S. from the University of the Sacred Heart of Puerto Rico and her Master Degree in Public Health (MPH) from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine – Puerto Rico.

My name is Anita Hardwick
Ms. Anita’s family has been involved off and on since 1940 when her grandparents first began to attend ST. Benedict Church and enrolled their children in the school. Her dad and his twin brother graduated with the class of 1942, with her aunt and 4 uncles to follow. Ms. Anita returned to St. Benedicts in 1993 when her mother entered the church. She began working as volunteer in the Parish Office in 1999 and became a staff member on July 1st 1999 as the Priests cook and housekeeper. In 2002 when Fr. Steve Sallis became Priest of St. Benedict Ms. Anita became custodian for the Church /Parish and has over the years evolved to the position of Facilities Supervisor. As one of 12 children Ms. Anita has numerous nieces and nephews as well as Great and Great-great and of course her fur babies Owen, Charlie and Sissy the newest addition to her menagerie. When not working Ms. Anita like to sleep , go to her trailer lot and travel.
