10 Great Things About St. Benedict Catholic School

What is great

Why it is great

High Quality Academics

Beyond the core curriculum of English-Language Arts, Math, Social
Studies, Science and Religion, we also provide additional academic support
through Math and Reading Specialists, along with dedicated programs in
Spanish, Art, Music, PE, Technology and Library.

Welcoming Community

We provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all of our
students and families. Our community is made up of diverse learners from
a variety of backgrounds and faith traditions . All are welcome and
accepted for the unique gifts they offer.

Professional Staff

Our teachers and staff are dedicated and professional. Each student
is a unique individual who absorbs information in many ways. Our
experienced team of teachers and aides are skilled at supporting and
working with all types of learners so that all can succeed.

Student Involvement

We encourage the participation of all students outside of the classroom.
These include Student Council, Class Representatives, Family Groups,
Assembly Leaders, Student Store, Reading Buddies and Mass Leaders. Each
middle schooler is required to work service hours.

Service In Action

Service is a part of everyday life. All students from preschool through
8th grade are involved in service projects throughout the school year.
These include  both class-based and school wide projects. We reach out
to local, national and international communities.

Affordable Tuition

We are an affordable Catholic school that is comparable in cost to area
public schools, especially when taking into account the price of after
school care and the recommended contributions public schools suggest to families.

Values-Based Education

We create an environment of more than academics.  Leadership, respect,
confidence and kindness are a significant part of the curriculum as well.
We teach each student to look beyond themselves toward others in the
community; regardless of differences.

 After Care

Families need care for their children beyond the school day.  We
offer an affordable and flexible after school care through our Kids
Club (Pre and PK) after school  in our Extended Day
(K-8) in a structured and caring environment. We also offer a
wonderful Summer Camp for K-7th grade that includes field trips, weekly
themed activities and top notch staff in a fun and friendly environment.

110 Years of Excellence

At 110 years, we continue to provide an excellent education in the
Wallingford neighborhood!  Established in 1908, we are one of the oldest
Catholic elementary schools in Seattle.  We have a strong alumni base with
several multi-generation families currently attending.

So Many Extras…

We offer something for everyone!  Activities are offered during lunch
and after school.  These may include Band, Chess, Knitting, Running,
Choir, Yoga, Study Hall, Chess, Lego and Robotics.  There is also an
