Did you miss our updates on Facebook this summer? If so, here is a quick run down of the work that we completed.
All of the work this summer is part of our broader Capital Campaign, the details of which can be found here.
Phase Two work was completed over the last several weeks. This consisted of constructing new sheer walls to minimize movement during an earthquake. These sheer walls run from beneath the basement (new piles were also installed) all the way to the roof. Walls include:
South Wall (Extended Care, 1st Grade, 6th Grade)
Hallway Wall (Preschool, Office, 8th Grade)
Center Wall (Hallway, Principal’s Office, Resource Room)
In addition to the planned improvements to the overall safety of the building we were able to sneak in a few additional improvements including: new cabinetry in the Preschool Room, an expansion of the Extended Care Room, new paint in the cafeteria and some classrooms, and the start of new flooring on the lower floor.
And, of course, we now have new furniture as a result of the funds raised at last year’s auction.
We have been busy!
