St. Benedict Catholic School announces that the National Catholic Educational Association
(NCEA) has named Michael L. Sullivan (Mike) a 2008 NCEA Catholic Elementary School Distinguished
Graduate.
Mike graduated in 1956 from St. Benedict School and currently is a Chaplain
at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington. Mike also graduated from Bishop Blanchet High
School, St. Martin College, St. Thomas Seminary, and Seattle University.
The award goes to Mike for outstanding personal and professional achievements. Throughout his
life, Mike consistently has pursued the highest possible professional and personal standards. He
is an example of how Catholic schools educate people to take leadership roles in their community
and beyond.
Mike credits our school for preparing him in an unique way to meet the responsibilities
of adult life. He said: “St. Benedict School is where I was nurtured in my faith and taught to
do my very best in the classroom and in life.”
Mike is being honored as he “lights the way” for
others in his compassion, caring and life-long ministry of reaching out to others.
